The flag of Washington’s District of Columbia has three red stars. One for each city state in the three city empire. This corporate empire of three city states controls the world economically through London’s inner city, militarily through the District of Columbia, and spiritually through the Vatican.
The Common Law. COMPENDIUM FACTUM IURIS: Book of Lawful Facts. Legalitarianally Instrumented Declarative Statutory/positions/arguments/locus standi/statement/disposition.

The year was 1871. The US was going through a lot of turmoil: the nation was bankrupt and vulnerable after the Civil War, and the London bankers, which included the notorious Rothschild family, were ready to make a deal with Congress to remedy that turmoil. These bankers made a tremendous amount of credit available in the aftermath of the Civil War as a means to fight Lincoln's Greenback after he was killed, with some theorizing that part of the motivation for Lincoln’s assassination came from his push to privatize the monetary system. The second reason why the bankers made so much credit available was to collect interest from those who desperately needed the money, which would’ve been the United States government at the time. Usury and debt slavery is a practice as old as time. Well, as old as Mystery Babylon. Not much has changed since the days of Mystery Babylon, not the usury, not the debt slavery, not even the iconography and symbolism. Capitol of the United States, Washington, D.C, 1865 Passed by Congress, the Act of 1871 provided a government for the 10-mile parcel of land known as the District of Columbia, allowing Washington, D.C. to act as a corporation outside of the original constitution of the United States. [1] Why does the Washington, D.C. constitution have nothing to do with the United States constitution? Why exactly is Washington, D.C. totally separate from the rest of the United States? Why does it NEED to be separate from the United States, as a separate territory at the epicenter of the Virgin Mary, tucked right in between Virginia and Maryland? The Act of 1871 changed our country's founding fathers’ original wording and capitalization of the Constitution from "Constitution for the United States for America" to "THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". A mixture impactful phrasing, and capitalization may mean nothing to the average person upon initial inspection, but these subtle changes are a huge deal in the realm of legislation. Compounded with these minor changes was clever marketing of the act to unify the territorial government for the entire District of Columbia. The aforementioned are contributing factors as to how such a major act flew under the radar, ultimately overturning the United States Constitutional Republic. Since 1871, the Federal government has usurped nearly all the power that was formerly held in the hands of the people. How on earth was Congress able to pass a separate constitution and incorporate the United States? It’s simple really: a corporation, by definition, is a legal entity separate from its owners, and its most notable feature? The legal benefit of a corporate structure is that a “corporation protects its owners from personal liability for corporate debts and obligations.”[2] Is it possible we have been living under the UNITED STATES CORPORATION, instead of the United States of America (the country), all this time, owned by international bankers and the aristocracy of Europe and Britain, without our knowledge or explicit informed consent?

The 1863 National Banking Act reinstated a private US central bank and Chase’s war bonds were issued.  Lincoln was re-elected the next year, vowing to repeal the act after he took his January 1865 oaths of office.  Before he could act, he was assassinated at the Ford Theatre by John Wilkes Booth.  Booth had major connections to the international bankers.  His granddaughter wrote This One Mad Act, which details Booth’s contact with “mysterious Europeans” just before the Lincoln assassination. Following the Lincoln hit, Booth was whisked away by members of a secret society known as Knights of the Golden Circle (KGC).  KGC had close ties to the French Society of Seasons, which produced Karl Marx.  KGC had fomented much of the tension that caused the Civil War and President Lincoln had specifically targeted the group.  Booth was a KGC member and was connected through Confederate Secretary of State Judah Benjamin to the House of Rothschild.  Benjamin fled to England after the war. The District of Columbia is considered the military capital of the deep state, with Vatican City being the religious epicenter, and the City of London the financial headquarters. In the United Kingdom, a small region called the City of London, also referred to as "The City," is a part of the larger London metropolitan area. As it differs from the rest of London and the UK in terms of its legal and administrative status, it is regarded as a city-state.[1] The City of London Corporation is the name of the local government for the one square mile area that makes up the City of London. The City of London Corporation has a long history, a distinctive constitutional status, and a wide range of authority. The City of London Corporation oversees many services, including local administration, fire protection, and a separate police force known as the City of London Police. The Court of Common Council, an independent legal system, is used in the City of London. This court has the authority to hear cases involving local government, property, and contract disputes, among other things. The "Square Mile," a separate financial hub in the City of London, is also home to the London Stock Exchange and many significant banks and financial institutions. The City of London has a long history of self-government that dates back to the Middle Ages, which is one of the primary reasons it has its own jurisdiction. In the 12th century, the City received a royal charter that gave it the authority to govern itself and establish its own legal framework. Over the years, this charter has been updated and changed, but the fundamental idea of self-government has not.

1. The City of London (finance, controlled by the Rothschilds) - NOT part of the UK

2. The US Federal Reserve (finance - private bank, owned by the Rothschilds) - NOT part of the USA

3. The Vatican City (indoctrination, deception and scare tactics) - NOT part of Italy

4. Washington D.C. (military, mind programming, brainwashing and depopulation) - NOT part of the USA

All of the above institutions function as individual states, operating under their own laws, hence there is no court of law on Earth that could ever prosecute them.

I promised him I would write such a book. Before we get into the main text of that book, I would like to examine a word he used. Empire. It has been bandied about in the press and classrooms and at local pubs for the last few years. But what exactly is an empire? Does America, with its magnificent constitution, its Bill of Rights, its advocacy of democracy, really deserve such a label—one that brings to mind a long history of brutal and self-serving rule? Empire: nation-state that dominates other nation-states and exhibits one or more of the following characteristics: 1) exploits resources from the lands it dominates, 2) consumes large quantities of resources—amounts that are disproportionate to the size of its population relative to those of other nations, 3) maintains a large military that enforces its policies when more subtle measures fail, 4) spreads its language, literature, art, and various aspects of its culture throughout its sphere of influence, 5) taxes not just its own citizens, but also people in other countries, and 6) imposes its own currency on the lands under its control.

One question this book examines is whether there is any truth in the age-old lore of the conspiracy theory of history — are we are dealing with a multi-generational, necromantic, synarchistic phenomenon? Have secret societies created a national security state apparatus to beguile us hoi polloi of our economic, civic and spiritual integrity? Do these secret societies create and play both sides in controlled conflicts to produce outcomes to further their New World Order millenniumist designs?

“Let us openly assert, that there is operating in the world today, and especially within our own nation, a conspiracy that is either a direct descendant of the Illuminati of 1776 or something closely patterned after it.”88

Adam Weishaupt formed the “Order of the Illuminati” in Bavaria on May 1, 1776. The philosophy of Weishaupt’s Illuminism “propose[d] as the end of Illuminism the abolition of property, social authority, and of nationality,”99 and was based primarily on revolution and secrecy as a means to bring about social change. Weishaupt’s goal was the complete and revolutionary restructuring of society, and to this end Weishaupt “felt the need of a powerful secret organization to support him in the conflict with his adversaries and in the execution of his rationalistic schemes along ecclesiastical and political lines.”1010 By 1778, only two years after its creation, Weishaupt was able to secure more then 1000 members for the Illuminati in Bavaria alone, and there were lodges in 12 other countries including France and the United States.1111 In 1784, a messenger was struck by lightning while carrying letters from Weishaupt to other members of the Illuminati. The police authorities confiscated these letters, which resulted in the raid of the homes of several leading members of the Illuminati. Weishaupt’s Order of the Illuminati was declared as subversive to the German government and the leaders of the Illuminati were banished from Germany. After the French Revolution numerous books outlining alleged connections between the French Jacobins and Weishaupt’s Illuminati were produced. These books focused on the many shared members between the Illuminati and the Jacobins, showing that the leaders of the French Revolution were also high ranking members of the Illuminati, according the Illuminati’s records which were confiscated by the Bavarian government. Concern over the influence of the Illuminati during the French Revolution spread all over the world, including America. In a letter to Rev. G.W. Snyder dated October 24, 1798, Former President George Washington States, Reverend sir: It was not my intention to doubt that the doctrine of the Illuminati had not spread in the United States. On the contrary, no one is more satisfied of this fact then I am.1212

The Bavarian Government outlawed the society and in 1787 published the details of The Illuminati conspiracy in The Original Writings of the Order and Sect of the Illuminati. In Adam Weishaupt’s own words: By this plan, we shall direct all mankind in this manner. And, by the simplest means, we shall set all in motion and in flames. The occupations must be so allotted and contrived that we may, in secret, influence all political transactions. There is disagreement among scholars as to whether or not the Illuminati survived its banishment. Nevertheless, the group had been quite successful in attracting members and had allied itself with the extensive Masonic networks. The Illuminati was publicly founded May 1, 1776, at the University of Ingolstadt by Weishaupt, Professor of Canon Law. It was a very “learned” society; Weishaupt drew the earliest members of his new order from among his students. On December 5, 1776, students at William and Mary College founded a secret society, Phi Beta Kappa. A second chapter was formed, at Yale, in 1780. The anti-Masonic movement in the United States during the 1820s held groups such as Phi Beta Kappa in a bad light. Because of pressure, the society went public. This is noted by some researchers as the direct cause of the appearance of Yale’s Order of Skull and Bones.

The final and definite account of the Cold War will never be written, as history evolves together with the societies that produce and consume history. But a consensus has emerged among scientists in numerous countries that the most prominent feature of the Cold War, as seen from the West, was the fight against Communism on a global scale. In this struggle that characterised the history of the twentieth century like few other features the former superpower of the world, Great Britain, lost its leading position to the United States. The latter used its struggle against Communism to increase its power decade after decade. And after the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the end of the Cold War, the Empire of the United States dominated the world like no other Empire before in history.

In 1974, original Trilateral Commission member and academic Richard Gardner wrote a seminal paper that was published in Foreign Affairs, the official publication of the Council on Foreign Relations. Obsessed with the Trilateral goal of creating a “New International Economic Order”, Gardner titled his article, The Hard Road To World Order.3 Gardner had the French Revolution on his mind, as he bracketed his thoughts with quotes from Charles Dickens’ famous literary classic, A Tale of Two Cities: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way. Nothing about the French Revolution was uplifting or inspiring. In fact, it was one of the bloodiest and most irrational assaults on humankind in history. The wanton killing, executions, chaos and societal darkness persisted from 1789 to 1799 and ultimately led to the tyrannical dictatorship of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. Indeed, Napoleon changed the world forever, presaging the rise of global socialism, communism and revolution. Gardner’s oft-repeated statement that followed gives us an insight into his radical idea to turn the world upside-down: In short, the “house of world order” will have to be built from the bottom up rather than from the top down. It will look like a great “booming, buzzing confusion,” but an end-run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault. 4 We should not miss the point that the French Revolution followed the same pattern, that is, from the ‘bottom up”. Although Gardner was not recommending bloodshed, as was the case in France, he did foresee the existing world order succumbing to a process figuratively similar to the barbaric Chinese practice of “death by a thousand cuts”. Since 1974, the systematic dismantling of national, state and personal sovereignty, the reformation of global trade and the ad hominem attacks on those critical of their “plan” have all served to create the “booming, buzzing confusion” that we experience today. In this, Gardner was right: It is going to be a very hard road. In the conclusion to Technocracy Rising: The Trojan Horse of Global Transformation, I wrote, If today’s technocrats are meticulously working toward a scientific dictatorship and applying a specific strategy to get there, wouldn’t you think that they have a specific list of criteria that must be met before “game over” can be called? With the rapid advances in Smart City technology, mass surveillance, the Internet of Things, 5G rollouts and now massive censorship of all opposing positions, it seems that “game over” may have actually already been called; if not, it is certainly very close. China is now widely acknowledged (in academic circles, at least) as having transitioned to a full-blown Technocracy. It has the outward trappings of Communism left over from the last century, but it has now superseded Marxism and Communism, and has promoted it to other nations around the world. The China transformation was aptly predicted by Trilateral Commission co-founder Zbigniew Brzezinski in his 1970 book, Between Two Ages: America’s Role in the Technetronic Era. He maintained that Marxism, Communism and Socialism were merely the necessary stepping-stones to reach his “Technetronic Era” but were not themselves the intended endgame. I consider Brzezinski to be venerated on this point. A book was released by Dr. Parag Khanna in 2015 titled, Technocracy in America, issues a blunt call to implement a direct Technocracy in the U.S. He calls for the abolishment of the Senate, the replacement of the Executive office by a committee of co-Presidents and the surrender of the Constitution to the Supreme Court for modernization. Big Tech has since become the engine of mass censorship of non-complying thought, most of which is conservative. Twitter, YouTube, Google, Facebook and even Amazon have seemingly colluded to exclude “deniers” from their respective platforms. Credit card processors like Stripe, Mastercard and Paypal have joined them to summarily cut off funding from conservative websites and organizations. The new telecom standard, 5G, is stampeding into cities around the world with such blinding speed that there is hardly time to mount a protest. Leaders of the 5G revolution like AT&T and Verizon, have bluntly and openly stated that 5G is not about SmartPhones but rather about enabling the Internet of Things and all other Smart City technologies. Mass surveillance technology has exploded around the world with facial-recognition cameras, sensors, artificial intelligence and analytics. China expects to have 600 million facial recognition cameras installed by 2020. In Chinese cities that are already blanketed with these cameras, any person can be located and collared within minutes of putting out the command to do so. Public-Private Partnerships, a creation of the UN’s Sustainable Development policies, are blanketing the U.S. under the leadership of President Donald Trump. For every taxpayer dollar spent on public projects and especially on infrastructure, there will be up to $10 of corporate money spent.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) had close ties to BCCI.  The CDB was founded by David Rockefeller’s International Basic Economy Corporation which launched the Caribbean Basin Initiative.  CDB loans money to countries that agree to allow multinational corporations to set up tax-free operations within their borders to take advantage of cheap labor.  These areas become known as export processing zones and give the corporations additional tax benefits from the US government.  The IMF came out of the Bretton Woods financial agreement signed after WWII and was officially founded in 1973.  The IMF serves as gatekeeper for the World Bank and the giant international money center banks which fall under its umbrella.  The IMF serves as judge and jury in ordering Third World countries to privatize their economies. and in imposing harsh austerity measures which hit the poorest people the hardest.  These measures include raising electricity rates, imposing a value-added tax or ending government subsidies for basic foodstuffs such as rice and beans.  If the country in question follows IMF mandates it continues to receive loans from the World Bank crowd.  If it does not, the country is cut off, its currency devalued and its economy ravaged by hyperinflation. BCCI played scam artist for the IMF bankers.  The IMF helped BCCI set up shop in numerous countries, including virtually every Latin American nation.  BCCI loaned the Jamaican government money to pay the IMF in return for Jamaican government deposits at BCCI.  Bolivia got BCCI loans under the same agreement, this time at the urging of the World Bank.  In Peru, the IMF/World Bank solicited Peruvian Treasury deposits for BCCI  None of these countries would ever see the over $1 billion in Treasury funds which they collectively put down the black hole called BCCI.  Peru later indicted a former IMF/World bank official for his role in the fleecing of Peru’s Central Bank.  While recycled petrodollars were being pumped into BCCI from the pockets of GCC oil sheiks, and drug profits were derived from contra cocaine and mujahadeen heroin, BCCI was simultaneously swindling the central banks of some of the world’s poorest countries with a wink and a nod from the IMF and World Bank.  As Alexander Cockburn put it in a Wall Street Journal column, when BCCI was closed by the Bank of England in July 1991, “The little guys went to the wall and the big fish swam off with the swag”. The racket worked something like this.  BCCI, in addition to providing loans for deposits, would offer to broker a country’s debt with the IMF if the central bank was willing to deposit funds at BCCI’s local branch.  Those countries that cooperated with the IMF would be rewarded with more loans.  Those that refused never saw their money again.  Most of the $20 billion that disappeared when BCCI was shut down belonged to Third World central banks whose governments had not bent over far enough for the IMF.  This outright theft left the poorest, most debt-ridden countries in the world even more impoverished.  African nations were hardest hit.  Cameroon, where US AID had been BCCI’s biggest customer, lost one-third of its hard currency reserves.  Nigeria lost $300 million when BCCI crony Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki bribed central bankers, then split with the cash.  For his troubles he was appointed Sultan of Sokoto, the Muslim capital of northern Nigeria.  The central banks of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Congo, Ivory Coast, Sierre Leone, Gabon, Senegal and Ghana were all pilfered by BCCI. [230]  All failed to satisfy IMF mandates for new loans or were in arrears on old debt.  BCCI sponged over $2 billion from the African continent.  Even in England, where $400 million was lost by depositors when BCCI closed shop, most of the money belonged to African immigrants of marginal means who believed BCCI’s claim of being “a bank for the world’s poor”.

This term anorganic: As the young Marx put it, earth is man's "anorganic body." https://www.wordnik.com/words/anorganic Does the libtard atheist believe this in their atheism? Constantin Daniel Blake Ross, it's transhumanism, which is kind of a shadow of science - Francis Bacon was a proto-transhumanist. At least, for him Nature was alive, yet it was dumb.

At one point Claudine told me that when I met with people in positions to accept the loans and set the wheels in motion, I should tell them: “If you want your country to prosper, accept loans from the World Bank and adhere to the conditions imposed by it and the IMF.” At her urging, I wrote those words into my notebook, memorized them, and would repeat them many times during the following years. Later, the World Bank, IMF, US Treasury Department, and their sister organizations would collectively be known as the Washington Consensus and its policies would be categorized as neoliberalism. Claudine’s statement would be revised to “If you want your country to prosper, accept loans from the Washington Consensus, hire our companies to build infrastructure projects, and submit to neoliberal policies.”

Every time I walked away from Claudine’s apartment, I wondered whether I was doing the wrong thing. Somewhere in my heart, I suspected I was. But the frustrations of my past lingered with me. MAIN seemed to offer everything my life had lacked—money, power, and sex. In the end, I convinced myself that by learning more, by experiencing it, I could better expose it later—the old “working from the inside” justification. When I shared this idea with Claudine, she gave me a perplexed look. “Don’t be ridiculous. Once you’re in, you can never get out. You must decide for yourself, before you get in any deeper.” I understood her, and what she said frightened me. After I left, I strolled down Commonwealth Avenue, turned onto Dartmouth Street, and assured myself that I was the exception. One afternoon some months later, Claudine and I sat in a window settee watching the snow fall on Beacon Street. “We’re a small, exclusive club,” she said. “We’re paid—well paid—to cheat countries around the globe out of billions of dollars. A large part of your job is to encourage world leaders to become part of a vast network that promotes US commercial interests. Convince them to fear the Communists or even, if you have to, us. Tell them the solution is to accept loans from our banks that will pay our companies to build the infrastructure that ends their poverty. It’s simple. In the end, those leaders become ensnared in a web of debt that ensures their loyalty. We can draw on them whenever we desire—to satisfy our political, economic, or military needs. In turn, these leaders bolster their political positions by bringing industrial parks, power plants, and airports to their people. Meanwhile, the owners of US engineering and construction companies become very wealthy.” That afternoon, in the idyllic setting of Claudine’s apartment, relaxing in the window while snow swirled around outside, I learned the history of the profession I was about to enter. Claudine described how throughout most of history, empires were built largely through military force or the threat of it. But with the end of World War II, the emergence of the Soviet Union, and the specter of nuclear holocaust, the military solution became just too risky.

Together, these leaders want to break what they see as U.S. hegemony over the international system and undermine the notion that the world is bound by a common set of values embodied in international law and upheld by institutions such as the United Nations. The new world order they are aiming to install is dominated by competing—and increasingly autocratic—civilizations, each controlling its own geopolitical space.

Like Vatican City, London’s Inner city is also a privately owned corporation, or city state, located right smack in the heart of Greater London. It became a sovereign state in 1694 when King William III of Orange privatized and turned the Bank of England over to the bankers. By 1812 Nathan Rothschild crashed the English stock market and scammed control of the Bank of England. Today the city state of London is the world’s financial power centre and the wealthiest square mile on the face of the Earth. It houses the Rothschild controlled Bank of England, Lloyd’s of London, the London Stock Exchange, all British Banks, the branch offices of 385 foreign banks, and 70 US banks. It has its own courts, its own laws, its own flag, and its The Common Law. COMPENDIUM FACTUM IURIS: Book of Lawful Facts. Legalitarianally Instrumented Declarative Statutory/positions/arguments/locus standi/statement/disposition. own police force. It’s not part of Greater London, England, or the British Commonwealth, and pays no taxes. The city state of London houses Fleet Street’s newspaper and publishing monopolies. It is also the headquarters for worldwide English Freemasonry (previously Knights Templar) and headquarters for the worldwide money cartel know as the Crown which is not the Royal Family or the British Monarch; the Crown is the private corporate city state of London. It has a council of twelve members who rule the corporation under a mayor called the Lord Mayor. The Lord Mayor and his twelve member council serve as prophecies to represent or sit in for thirteen of the world’s wealthiest, most powerful banking families. This ring of thirteen ruling families includes the Rothschild family, the Warburg family, the Oppenheimer family, and the Schiff family. These families and their descendants run the Crown Corporation of London. The Crown Corporation holds the title to worldwide Crown land in Crown colonies like Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The British Parliament and the British Prime Minister serve as a public front for these ruling crown families. Like the city state of London and the Vatican, a third city state was officially created in 1790 as the first Act of the Constitution America. That city state is called the District of Columbia and located on ten square miles of land in the heart of Washington, USA. The District of Columbia flies its own flag, and has its own independent constitution. Although geographically separate, the city states of London, the Vatican, and the District of Columbia are one interlocking empire called Empire of the City. The flag of Washington’s District of Columbia has three red stars. One for each city state in the three city empire. This corporate empire of three city states controls the world economically through London’s inner city, militarily through the District of Columbia, and spiritually through the Vatican. The constitution for the District of Columbia operates under a tyrannical Roman law known as Lex Fori which bares no resemblance to the US Constitution. When Congress passed the Act of 1871 it created a separate corporate government for the District of Columbia. This treasonous act allowed the District of Columbia to operate as a corporation outside the original constitution of the United States and outside of the best interest of American citizens. A sobering study of the signed treaties and charters between Britain and the United States exposes a shocking truth that the United States has always been and still is a British Colony. King James I was famous, not for just changing the Bible into the King James version, but for signing the First Charter of Virginia in 1606. That charter granted America’s British forefathers a license to settle and colonize America. The charter also guarantees that future kings and queens of England would have sovereign authority over all the citizens and colonized land in America stolen from the Indians. Although King George III of England gave up most of his claims over the American colonies, he kept his right to continue receiving payment for his business venture of colonizing America. If America had really won the war of independence they would never have agreed to pay debts and reparations to the King of England. Americas blood soaked war of independence against the British bankrupted America and turned its citizens into permanent debt slaves of the king. In the War of 1812 the British torched and burned to the ground the White House and all US government buildings and destroyed ratification records of the US Constitution. In 1604, a corporation called the Virginia Company was formed in anticipation of the imminent influx of white Europeans, mostly British at first, into the North American continent. Its main stockholder was King James I and the original charter for the company was completed by April 10th 1606. The Virginia Company owned most of the land of what we now call the USA. The Virginia Company (The British Crown and the bloodline families) had rights to 50%, yes 50%, of all gold and silver mined on its lands, plus percentages of other minerals and raw materials, and 5% of all profits from other ventures. The lands of the Virginia Company were granted to the colonies under a Deed of Trust (on lease) and therefore they could not claim ownership of the land. They could pass on the perpetual use of the land to their heirs or sell the perpetual use, but they could never own it. Ownership was retained by the British Crown. The original Organic American Constitution reads: “The Constitution for the united states of America”. The altered version reads: “THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”. When Americans agree to have a social security number the citizens of the united states surrender their sovereignty and agree to become franchises of the United States (The Virginia Company of the British Crown). Everything in the “United States” is for sale: roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, water, prisons, airports etc. (Executive Order 12803) The ‘Crown’ that owns Virginia (USA) is the administrative corporation of the City of London, an State independent of Great Britain and wholly owned by the Pontiff of Rome. Since 1213, the Monarchs of England have been puppet Monarchs under the Pontifex Maximus of the Holy Roman Empire, a corporate body over which the pontiff of Rome is CEO. Since 1300, when the Crown of Great Britain (England) was made a sub corporation of the Crown of the City of London, the Monarchs of England, as CEO of the Crown of Great Britain have been agents for the Crown of the City. Thus, the real Crown was obfuscated from the eyes of the ‘colonials’. But, anyone who cared to look and reason could have seen this scheme even in the late AD 1700s. The ‘common law’ of England, since the incorporation of the British Crown around AD 1300, has been Roman Municipal Law, a type of Roman civil law designed to rule over debtor States. The Anglo Saxon common law, which used only ‘God’s Law’, ceased to exist with the implementation of the feudal system where all people were subjects of the corporate Crown, and after the Pope’s Papal Bull, Unam Sanctam 1302 where he declared: “Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff.” Subject means slave, as does ‘citizen’ and ‘freeman’. Roman Law uses the law of the sea because all human institutions in the Roman system are make-believe ships at sea (incorporated bodies). The ‘all caps’ spelling does not make the ‘legal identity name” (strawman). It is where the family name has been converted into a ’surname - primary name’. The all caps only signifies that the name carries with its use the status of slave pledged as chattel in bankruptcy of the State.

Eventually I realized that the Ricos were part of a strategy, a system that had subjugated Andean people through fear since the Spanish conquest. I saw that my commiseration was merely enabling the community to continue doing nothing. They didn’t need me to stand up for them; they needed to stand up to the Ricos themselves. They needed to admit to the anger they had suppressed, to take offense to the injustices they had suffered. I told them that they had to act. They had to do whatever it took— including risking being killed—so that their children could prosper and live in peace. My realization about enabling that community was a great lesson for me. I understood that the victims themselves could be unwitting collaborators and that taking action offered the only solution. And it worked. The brick makers formed a co-op. Each family donated bricks, and the co-op used those bricks to rent a truck and warehouse in the city. The Ricos boycotted the co-op, until a Lutheran mission from Norway contracted with it to buy all the bricks for a school it was building, at about five times the amount the Ricos had paid the brick makers but half the price the Ricos were charging the Lutherans—a win for everyone except the Ricos. The co-op flourished after that. Less than a year later, Ann and I completed our Peace Corps assignment. I was twenty-six and no longer subject to the draft. I became an EHM. When I first entered those ranks, I convinced myself that I was doing the right thing. South Vietnam had fallen to the Communist North, and now the world was threatened by the Soviet Union and China. My business school professors had taught that financing infrastructure projects through mountains of World Bank debt would pull lower-income nations out of poverty and save them from the clutches of Communism. Experts at the World Bank and USAID reinforced this mindset. By the time I discovered the falsehoods in that story, I felt trapped by the system. I had grown up feeling poor (admittedly a relative term), the son of a teacher in a New Hampshire boarding school for extremely wealthy boys, and suddenly I was making a great deal of money, traveling first class to countries I’d dreamed about all my life, staying in the best hotels, eating in the finest restaurants, and meeting with heads of state. I had it made. How could I even consider getting out? It was not until much later that I realized I’d been privileged; unlike much of the world, I’d never worried about finding my next meal or a roof over my head, and I’d received an education restricted to very few. Perhaps my subconscious did realize some of this, because this is when the nightmares began. I woke in dark hotel rooms sweating, haunted by images of sights I had actually seen: legless lepers strapped into wheeled wooden boxes rolling along the streets of Jakarta; people bathing in slime-green canals while, next to them, others defecated; a human cadaver abandoned on a garbage heap swarming with maggots and flies; and children who slept in cardboard boxes, vying with roaming packs of dogs for scraps of rubbish. I realized that I’d distanced myself emotionally from these things. Like other Americans, I’d seen these people as less than human; they were “beggars,” “misfits”—“them.” One day my Indonesian government limo stopped at a traffic light. A man suffering from leprosy thrust the disease-ridden remnants of his hand through my window. My driver yelled at him. The leper grinned, a lopsided toothless smile, and withdrew. We drove on, but his spirit remained with me. It was as though he had sought me out; his bloody stump was a warning, his smile a message. “Reform,” he seemed to say. “Repent.” I began to look more closely at the world around me. And at myself. I came to understand that, although I had all the trappings of success, I was miserable. I’d been popping Valium every night and drinking lots of alcohol. I’d get up in the morning, force coffee and pep pills into my system, and stagger off to negotiate contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars. That life had come to seem normal to me. I had bought into the stories. I was taking on debt to support my lifestyle. I was operating out of fear—the fear of Communism, losing my job, failure, and not having the material things everyone told me I needed. One night I woke up remembering a different type of dream. I had walked into the office of a leader in a country that had just discovered it had lots of oil. “Our construction companies,” I told him, “will rent equipment from your brother’s John Deere franchise. We’ll pay twice the going rate; your brother can share his profits with you.” In the dream I went on to explain that we’d make similar deals with friends of his who owned Coca-Cola bottling plants, other food and beverage suppliers, and labor contractors. All he had to do was sign off on a World Bank loan that would hire US corporations to build infrastructure projects in his country. Then I casually mentioned that refusing would bring in the jackals. “Remember,” I said, “what happened to . . .” I rattled off a list of names like Mossadegh of Iran, Arbenz of Guatemala, Allende of Chile, Lumumba of the Congo, Diem of Vietnam. “All of them,” I said, “were overthrown or”—I ran a finger across my neck—“because they didn’t play our game.” I lay there in bed, once again in a cold sweat, realizing that this dream described my reality. I had done all of that.

In that moment I had to accept my personal responsibility, had to acknowledge the possibility that my years in Ecuador had given me a perspective unlike that of the others who did my type of work or the citizens whose taxes supported us. I had been blessed—or cursed—with insights shared by few Americans. Everyone found ways to rationalize. Charlie fought the Communists. Others were simply profiteering. “A dog-eat-dog world,” they said. “My family comes first.” Some wrote off other races or classes as inherently inferior or lazy, deserving whatever misfortunes befell them. A few, I supposed, actually believed that investing fortunes into electrical grids would solve the world’s problems. But me: What was my justification? I was a young man who suddenly felt very old. I stared down at that canal. I wished I had a copy of Tom Paine’s Common Sense so I could hurl it into those rank waters. My eyes were drawn to something I had not spotted before. A large and battered cardboard box slumped, like a collapsed beggar’s hat, near the edge of the stagnant water. As I stared, it shuddered, reminding me of a fatally injured animal. Figuring I was delusional, that the heat, fumes, and noise had gotten the better of me, I decided to resume walking; but before I turned, I caught a glimpse of an arm protruding from around the side of the box—or rather, what appeared to have once been an arm, now reduced to a bloody stump. The shaking intensified. The bloody stump moved along the edge of the box to a corner at the top. It shot straight up. A nest of black hair followed it, appearing like Medusa’s snakes above the box, knotted and mangled with mud. The head shook itself and a body began to emerge, up until now hidden by the box, a body that sent waves of revulsion through me. Bent and emaciated, the body of what I took to be a woman crept along the ground to the edge of the canal. It struck me that I was seeing something I had heard about all my life but never encountered before. This woman, if that in fact was her gender, was a leper, a human being whose flesh was decaying right before my eyes. At the canal’s edge, the body sat down, or, more accurately, collapsed into a pile of rags. The arm I had not seen before reached out and dipped a tattered cloth into the fetid canal water, shook it slowly, and wrapped it around the bloody stump, which had several open wounds where fingers should have been. I heard a groan, and realized that the sound came from me. My legs wobbled. I had an urge to race back to the hotel, but I forced myself to remain at that spot. I had to bear witness to this person’s agony. I knew in my heart that any other action was futile. This woman’s struggle was probably repeated several times a day by her alone. I wondered how many other abandoned souls were performing such doomed rituals here in Jakarta, throughout Indonesia, in India and Africa. A movement caught my eye, another twitching of the cardboard walls. The leper turned slowly to stare at the box. Her face was a blur of red pustules; it lacked lips. I followed the sunken eyes. A baby’s head came into view beside the box. I wanted not to watch but was fascinated, like a man witnessing a murder he is powerless to stop. The baby crawled toward the woman. It sat down beside the leper and began to cry. I could not hear the sound, either because the voice was too weak or the traffic too loud, but I could see the open mouth and the spasms of the little body. The leper suddenly looked up and spied me watching her. Our eyes met. She spit onto the ground, rose to her feet, shook her bloody stump at me, caught the baby up in her arms and, scurrying faster than I imagined possible, disappeared back inside the box.

Sulawesi was also the home of the infamous Bugi tribe. European spice traders centuries ago feared them as the fiercest, most bloodthirsty pirates in the world. When they returned home, the Europeans threatened disobedient children with the warning that if they did not change their ways “the Bugimen will get you.” During the 1970s the Bugis continued to live much as they had for hundreds of years. Their magnificent sailing ships, called prahus, formed the backbone of interisland commerce. The sailors who manned these black-sailed galleons wore long sarongs, brilliantly colored headscarves, and dazzling gold earrings; they carried vicious machetes thrust through sashes at their waists. They looked as though they still cherished their ancient reputation. I became friends with an elder named Buli, a shipbuilder who practiced his art in the manner of his ancestors. One day, when he and I were lunching together, he observed that his people never saw themselves as pirates; they were merely defending their homeland against intruders. “Now,” he said, handing me a slice of a luscious fruit, “we’re at a loss. How can a handful of people in wooden sailing ships fight off America’s submarines, airplanes, bombs, and missiles?” Questions like that got to me. Eventually, they convinced me to change my ways.

A town known as “Batsville,” located near the budding Texas cattle ranch, had been identified as a possible location for a power plant. Early one morning, my driver drove us out of Ujung Pandang, up the spectacular coast, to the port city of Parepare. From there, we wound cautiously into the mountains of the remote interior, the road barely more than a dirt trail cut through jungle. I felt like I had returned to the Amazon. When the jeep pulled into the village of Pinrang, the driver announced, “This is it. Batsville.” I glanced around; the name of the village had piqued my interest. I searched for the bats, but saw nothing unusual. The driver cruised slowly past a plaza that resembled many others in towns throughout Indonesia: It had a couple of benches and several trees with huge dark clusters hanging from their branches, like extra-large coconuts. Then suddenly, one of those clusters opened up. My heart caught in my throat as I realized that a gigantic bat was stretching her wings. The driver pulled to a stop. He led me to a spot beneath one of the bats. The amazing animal was moving above us, her wings sluggishly uncoiling, her body as large as a monkey. The eyes opened. The head turned and stared at us. I had heard rumors that these bats shorted out electric lines, indicating that their wing spans measured in excess of six feet; however, even in my wildest imagination I had never expected anything to compare with what I was seeing. Later, I met with the mayor of Pinrang. I quizzed him about local resources and likely attitudes toward building a power plant and industries owned by foreigners in his area, but the bats dominated my thoughts. When I asked whether they caused problems, he replied, “No. They fly away every evening and eat fruit far out of town. They return mornings. Never touch our fruit.” He raised his teacup. “Very much like your corporations,” he said with a sly smile. “They fly off, feed on resources far away, defecate on lands people from the United States will never visit, and then return to you.” I heard this theme often. I had begun to understand that although most Americans have no idea that their lifestyles are built on exploitation, millions of people in other countries are aware of it. Even in the 1970s they viewed our military not as a defender of democracy but rather as an armed guard for exploitative corporations—and they were frightened and angry as a result.
