Chinese subjects: larger surface area in the left middle temporal gyrus, angular gyrus, and gyrus rectus. Larger cortical thickness in various regions including the bilateral middle and inferior temporal gyri, para‐hippocampal gyri, and anterior cingulate gyrus. I think that this has to do mostly with the cultural selection operated in an integral alphabetic society. By this, I mean a society that uses characters for both vowels and consonants. Also, I'm pointing to the aesthetically simple alphabets, due to the Indian alphasyllabary activating area V4, involved in processing complex images, unlike alphabets, yet like Chinese logograms. https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.1602612
